Chicago Summer Festivals have begun! This is one of the reasons Chicago is the Best City in the World. Every weekend from May – August there are multiple street festivals in various neighborhoods offering cold beer, great crowds, & good music. This past weekend I finally attended my first one for 2011 – Mayfest in Lincoln Square. This festival was conveniently located in my neighborhood, Lincoln Square so my husband and I were able to walk – which I highly recommend cab fare or good shoes for this fest.
One word: Boots. Wait…one word doesn’t cover this….Boots, Polka, Brats, and Perfect Weather sums up Mayfest 2011.
I live in Lincoln Square so I can’t help sharing some of favorite aspects – The variety of restaurants (a few of my frequents: Daily Grill Outdoor patio, Fork for their Cheese platter and Royal Thai for their Spring Rolls and BYOB), Great Parks (I’m starting boot camp at Welles Park – Damen & Montrose – in the morning!) and great condos and single family homes at affordable prices. Plus, the Ravenswood Metra and Damen Brown line will get me to the loop in 30 minutes – and I always get a seat! I just helped buyers close on a 2bed/1bath at the corner of Wolcott and Damen and we were able to secure the unit in the mid-$200′s including parking.

Chicago Blues Festival June 10-12 (Grant Park)
